Queenstown Mountains and Holiday Adventures – Chill Out Time in New Zealand

Surrounded by beautiful mountains, chill out and enjoy the fun and adventure New Zealand’s famous Queenstown has to offer. They say Queenstown is the adreneline centre for the southern hemisphere but it’s also the place to chill out, dine out, party and enjoy wonderful walks along the lake front! I have been to Queenstown many times, it’s definitely one of my favourite places in New Zealand. I even had my 4-day honeymoon close by at Blanket Bay!

Many would associate Queenstown with the snow and the amazing ski fields in that part of the world. People travel far and wide to experience them. However not all can make it to Queenstown during the Winter but that’s not a problem because Queenstown has the beauty of being a perfect place to visit anytime of the year.

New Zealand is preparing for the southern hemisphere’s biggest winter party and people flock from all around the world to join in the fun! Before hitting the town, make sure you fill up with a local classic ‘Fergburger’ – based in Queenstown’s famous Shotover street, the burger establishment is now open an incredible 21 hours a day…they are delicious! Yum..I am now beginning to crave one! If you are after a more up market experience, book a table at the ‘Bunker’ or ‘Botswana Butchery.’

If you are into Jazz then Queenstown’s annual Jazz Festival is a must. The programme is packed full of fantastic music, free gigs, concerts, workshops and more. There are around 50 events and something like 150 national and international performers taking part during the 3 day event over New Zealand’s labour weekend, 18-21 October – see http://www.queenstownjazzfest.co.nz/ for more information. Remember a lot of what Queenstown has to offer isn’t dependent on the season and most activities can be enjoyed all year round. If you are into camping, you probably won’t be waking up in a tent in the Winter time but when you do in the Summer the same view would be completely different but just as amazing.

Wow. I think it’s definitely time I packed my bags again…
